Mindful Somatic Resourcing to Transform Relationship Patterns

This workshop will introduce a bottom-up (body-based) integrative approach to heal relationship patterns at an individual level. Implicit memories and subconscious attachment patterns live in the nervous system, so top-down approaches (traditional therapy modalities) tend to have limited effectiveness.
This workshop will provide introductory education on polyvagal theory, somatic therapy, attachment theories, and interpersonal neurobiology as these relates to common maladaptive relationship patterns. After the educational piece, this workshop will include a live, speaker-led practice of felt-sense connection to discuss the implementation of somatic awareness and somatic resourcing in healing relationship patterns.

Participants will move through a yoga flow led by Shawnda Joy of Joy Vibe Yoga & Wellness, while grooving to energizing conscious neosoul music with live vocals by indie singer Dorian. Finger-snapping, toe-tapping and invigorating freestyle dance breaks along with unplugged segments with Dorian sharing the life experiences that inspired his songs as you flow is what to expect during this soulful serenading experience. Dorian’s vocal stylings/messages in his music have been compared to India Arie, Erykah Badu, John Legend and Stevie Wonder. All levels welcome!
